Lekgalong Community Takes a Stand Against Substance Abuse

The spirit of unity and determination filled the air in Lekgalong Rustenburg, on April 13th 2025 as community leaders spearheaded a powerful friendly march to raise crucial awareness against the intertwined scourges of substance abuse and gender-based violence. The event served as a beacon of hope, bringing together dedicated stakeholders and passionate community members from Ikageng, Boitekong, Lekgalong and Mosontane in a collective effort to foster positive change.
Among the key participants was Narconon Africa, a steadfast advocate for drug-free living and a vital source for drug rehabilitation. Our team was proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with local leaders, the energetic youth of Lekgalong Ward 44, and the inspiring Beyond the Change Foundation, a non-profit organization tirelessly working on the front lines of the drug crisis affecting these communities. The palpable energy of the march underscored the communities unwavering commitment to creating safer and healthier environments for all.
The march served as a powerful platform to amplify the urgent need to address both substance abuse and gender-based violence, recognizing the often complex ways these issues intersect and impact individuals and families. The active participation of residents from Ikageng, Boitekong, Lekgalong and Mosontane was the heart and soul of the event.
